What happens at the consultation?
The consultation is an opportunity to see if we are a match. It’s an informal chat where we find out more about your tailoring needs, vision for your outfit and any special requirements you may have.
We will have a chat about which one of our services is right for you, take a look at some samples, colours, designs and go through some fabric options based on what you are looking for. We might even get into some preliminary sketches depending on the style.
Taking Measurements
If you are happy with the selections made and wish to make an order at the consultation, we will proceed to taking measurements.
We take comprehensive measurements which will be passed on to the pattern cutter to make a personalised block from which your suit will be cut.
You will be fully clothed for this part of the process and we recommend you wear the same type of ‘intimate apparel’ that you will be wearing with the outfit so as to ensure consistency in the shape and form of the garment.
It’s also a great idea to bring a pair of shoes for posture and to make sure the garment drops perfectly.
Payment
Should you wish to go ahead and make an order on the same day, we take a 50% non-refundable deposit to begin the process and take the balance on completion of the garment.
Then what…?
Nothing! It’s all in our very capable hands and all you have to do is wait for your beautiful suit to be crafted by our expert Artisan Tailors until it’s time for your
fitting.
Fittings
Most of our suits are collected on the same day as the fitting but depending on your shape, proportions and specific needs, there may be more than one. You should wear the same type of undergarments you wore when getting measured-up for consistency of fit. This could be shapewear, padded support wear or a binder for example along with similar footwear.
Timeline
Timelines can vary depending on the service you choose and the complexity of the design but typically your suit will be ready in around 5 weeks from the time you confirm your fabric selection. We can expedite this with an express fee in some cases depending on the garment specific characteristics.
Sometimes finding that perfect fabric for that special suit can take some time so we'll send you some options as we source and find them. This can mean there may be a longer lead time needed of months rather than weeks. The earlier we start the better.
Prices
Below is a ‘starting price’ guideline based on a 2 piece suit. The final garment cost will be based on the quality of fabric you select and its unique characteristics along with any specific design details.
